COURAGE *PERSEVERANCE* HOPE
Remembering Brian Thomas
Brian Thomas is a son, brother, friend, leader, and inspiration. This game began as a way for the football program to honor, make aware, and educate our school community about the devastating effects of cancer. However, life seems to work in ways that one cannot explain. In 2012, at the beginning of his junior year, Brian Thomas was diagnosed with stage 4 oligodendro glioma , a rare cancerous tumor in his upper spinal cord. This tumor robbed Brian of the opportunity to be the starting QB for the stallions. However, it never stopped him from being our 2010 caption. Brian found a way to attend our camps, practices, and games. He never stopped playing the role of caption; even after the season he mentored and led our future stallions. On Thursday, September 29th, 2011, Brian lost his battle. His strength to fight this disease came from the love of his mother, father, brother, as well as family and friends. To help him during treatments and recovery, his friends gave him a slogan carries on today with hope. Now we need those words to remember him by. This slogan carries on today with tattoos, signs, decals, t-shirts, etc. A reminder of how Brian lived, endured and fought.
